Prof. Dr. Simmy M. Varkey is an accomplished academic in the Department of Medical Surgical Nursing. She holds a Master of Science in Medical Surgical Nursing and a Ph.D. in Nursing.
Dr. Simmy M. Varkey’s journey with SME Kanjirappally began as a student in its very first batch. Today, she leads the same institution as its Principal—bringing years of experience, dedication, and care to the role.
She has over 25 years of teaching experience, including 23 years at SME, along with one year and one month of clinical practice. She holds a Ph.D. in Behavioural Sciences and is a recognized research guide under KUHS, currently guiding seven Ph.D. scholars.
Dr. Simmy M Varkey is also a career guidance speaker for the State of Kerala, helping students across the state plan their futures. Her academic contributions include more than 15 research publications in national and international journals. Her leadership is rooted in deep commitment, strong values, and a lifelong connection to SME—first as a student, now as its guiding light.
